First of all i want to write some of my thoughts about che55.com....
I love the presentation of this site ...the style(wood like) is very characteristic and beautiful ...but i want see more styles( a metal grey like or a marble)and option to select a style.
Is really dynamic site ...compatible with modern browsers(not a million javascripts what can be loaded and executed in only one page - IE 5-6 era) and seems (from what i can understand) that this site is very well coded(not 3 minutes to execute a script like other sites).
The flow from the Main Menu to all other pages is perfect (my modest opinion again).
Now for the game part...
The problems begins after the end of some games...is boring ...to have only the option to challenge a player...not real competion ...I strongly believe that an option to create tournaments will solve that problem.
And maybe an option to create a game(and again tournaments) with thematic opening would be very educating and very interesting (my modest opinion again).
With these adjustments ..Tournaments primary and thematic opening secondary i believe che55.com will become much better and more interesting...

I agree. Tournaments are more interesting then only one to one play. Thematic tournaments are important possibility for many players.

How about a section of the forums devoted to tournament and thematic tournaments?

well i think we should all give andy a big hand for the creation of che55.com. i for one, not only couldn't get a keyboard with uppercase, but couldn't find like-minded people to play, as us chessies are a less prevalent breed. i've met some nice people from all over the globe, had my a** e whooped on many an occasion, but thouroughly enjoyed the games! well done andy, thanks!!!! a competition mode would be a nice idea!

Yes, indeed.
I've checked out a few sites and this is a very good one, crisp, clean looking, fast. good board and pieces, notes facility (to mention just a part of what's on offer). I think Tournaments will probably follow at a later date, good work! hope the site grows and grows.

I also agree.

I don't take chess that seriously & have good fun on here.

Keep up the good work.

Thankyou everyone for your comments.

Please don't be annoyed if I don't answer to every comment and suggestion on here. But I promise you they will all be read. I can't possibly reply to each one, I'll never get anything done!

It seems most people want some more challenge in the games on here. The chess league wasn't enough it seems. I better start thinking about a chess tournament system.

I'll have to give it some thought how to do it. Perhaps I could start one on the first day of every month maybe. Now this forum is nearly completed (Apart from a few bugs mentioned above) I can start working on it.

But not at the moment because I'm away this weekend in Somerset.

See you all when I get back.

i would like to see a 30 min or say 1hr speed game introduced - for those who like to finish the games on the same day - this would help those who don't have good access to a computer for long periods of time - now we play players all over the world.

also a 1 day move would be nice

I've added 10 minute, 1 hour, 24 hour and 2 day timers to games now. Thanks for the tip.

Hi all,

tournaments (an particularly thematic ones) are the only thing missing here to say it's a -nearly- perfect site to enjoy chess with friends all over the world! Please, Andy, give us open, swiss, knockout, "village fair" tournaments, it's good competitive fun! Thank you!

I think you/we could start our own tournaments via the forums.
